About Joe

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Joe began working with horses at the age of eight. He served his apprenticeship to be a jockey under Seamus McGrath with Glencairn Stables before immigrating to America in 1963. He rode races in America from 1964 through 1982, mainly on the east coast. Joe had the good fortune to ride leading sire Danzig when he broke his maiden in 1979 for trainer Woody Stephens.

Joe Brocklebank retired from riding in 1982, at which time he formed Erin American Bloodstock. Erin American buys and sells horses, both publicly and privately. This includes racehorses, stallion prospects, broodmare prospects, and yearlings.

Joe’s wife, Antoinette, is the owner of Thoroughbred Racing Silks, designing and manufactured racing silks. They reside in Garden City, New York, and spend the winters in Hollywood, Florida.
